Three different meanings of online
An online music catalog can make track discovery convenient, but it adds account, network and rights dependencies. Keep a clear distinction between locally owned files and content accessed through a subscription.
For reliable performance, verify the connection and playback permissions ahead of time and keep a permitted backup playlist available.
Local music versus streamed music
A local music file is stored on a disk you can access. A streaming entry refers to content supplied by a service. An item visible in a playlist does not necessarily remain playable without an internet connection.
Maintain a small local test folder. It provides a controlled way to check audio routing when a service is slow or unavailable. Use music files you are entitled to use and keep backups outside the main working disk.
Catalog subscriptions are separate
A VirtualDJ license and a music-service subscription cover different things. Check the provider plan, eligible country and supported application features before paying. Offline caching, recording and stems permissions may differ between catalogs.
The current Spotify integration is documented separately in this site. Do not generalize its restrictions to every other catalog or assume that another catalog's offline feature applies to Spotify.
Browser and account safety
Use publisher and provider links for account management. This independent guide does not offer a clone login screen, accept your payment details or recover your password. Inspect the destination before entering credentials.
Plan for a connection failure
Before depending on streamed content, test the actual network and the intended account. Keep a lawful local alternative and know how to select it quickly. Rehearse with the internet disconnected only where your software and music permissions allow the workflow.
A successful sign-in is not a complete performance test. Confirm track search, loading, playback and any output devices separately. Avoid changing all of them at once when a single network request fails.
